DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY OOSTERHOUT-DONGEN

In close collaboration with stakeholders, Dromenlab powered by De Plekkenmakers used approachable participation methods in order to tackle the spatial and social challenges for the rural area between Oosterhout and Dongen ('t Blik and Heikant).

More than 170 ideas were collected form local residents, entrepeneurs and other stakeholders in order to give a quality boost to the site. The result of Dromenlab is visually summarized in a Dromenboek. Dromenlab provided insight into the character and quality of the entire area. The fact  that landowners and representatives of different organizations were allowed to determine the desired direction in which the area could develop in advance, made it also successful for the outcomes.

The content of the urban plan - based on incoming dreams and valuations - provides an indicative direction for the rural area between Oosterhout and Dongen. Together with recommendations, conclusions and concrete guidelines, the urban plan provides guidance for further development and implementation.
