INTERIOR DESIGN PATIOHOUSE WITH DIVIDING GLASS WALL
The assignment for a client in Amsterdam, was to provide a new interior design of their patiohouse in Amsterdam, specifically the mezzanine floor and additional void.
The client wishes to close off this open space, which is connected to the lower living area, for more privacy. Placing a large glass wall around the void or closing the void with a glass floor were suggested options by the client to explore.
Closing the void and placing a long dividing glass wall offers the space a clear zoning throughout the entire 3-layer house. This is further emphasized by moving the existing window in the inner terrace facade, creating a zone for movement and a zone for living/sleeping. The glass wall with thin steel profiles gives the bedroom a firm and fresh look. The existing stairs will have a make-over suitable to the new overall design.
