INTERIOR DESIGN SUMAC MEDITERRANEAN STREETFOOD
The assignment was to provide a concept for a new restaurant chain inspired by the herb 'sumac' and Mediterranean lifestyle. Mediterranean regions often accompany (passion for good) food with a suitable ambiance and experience. Sumac Mediterranean Streetfood strives to accomplish the same authenticity with a modern twist. The origin of sumac starts with simple, fresh and authentic flavours and preparations. The herb sumac is extracted from the fruits of the plant sumac.
The cycle of sumac is spatially translated in a concept for the new restaurant chain. In the centre of Dordrecht, the cycle of sumac starts with a fingerfood restaurant inspired by the sumac seed: Earthly, pure and with a good composition. The DNA of Sumac express itself by the food, Mediterranean flavours and urban streetfood, but also the Mediterranean ambiance. A variety of colours and materials are merged in the kitchen, while the dining area is open, welcoming and pleasant with eye for detail and the focus on enjoying ‘homemade’ comfort food.
