An unexpected turn

On April 30th, my life was suddenly turned upside down. During a workday in Hoofddorp, I unexpectedly suffered a heart attack with complications. What followed was twelve weeks in the hospital, three of which in a coma, and intensive rehabilitation in which I even had to learn to walk again. Now, four months later, I'm back home and continuing my recovery with the help of a ventricular assist device (LVAD). It's a new beginning, step by step. I feel incredibly supported by all the messages, cards, flowers and hugs from friends, family, colleagues, and associates, near and far.
